Digital product creation (DPC) has leapt up the investment agenda for footwear and apparel brands this year, but how far has the industry progressed towards driving full scale adoption and business results from 3D and DPC? What are the implications for your digitization strategy and post-COVID recovery?

Since 2016, Kalypso has partnered with industry research groups and educational institutions to survey RFA organizations about their DPC journeys. For 2020, more than 40 brands’ and retailer’s opinions are included in the research results to create an aggregate picture of both the present and future of digital design and development.

2020 Research Background

In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic - and the subsequent humanitarian and economic crises that have emerged in its wake - have impacted organizations across all industries.

Kalypso, The Interline, and the Indiana University Kelley School of Business Center for Education and Research in Retail are partnering on this year's annual research. The goal is to see how far the promise of DPC is being fulfilled, while assessing the impact of the current crisis.

When the results are anonymously aggregated, analyzed, and presented, an accurate picture of the current industry-wide maturity of DPC will emerge, allowing you to gauge your maturity relative to the industry average, and to the competition.
