Demand for firm's innovation expertise has motivated expansion of practice areas, numerous promotions and aggressive growth plan
BEACHWOOD, Ohio – Kalypso, the world’s premier innovation consulting firm, continues to experience significant demand for its services and expertise in innovation, product development and product lifecycle management (PLM). This demand has led to an expansion of the firm's practice areas, a recent slew of promotions and additional recruiting programs designed to find the next generation of Kalypso team members.
Since the firm's founding in 2004 by George Young and Bill Poston, Kalypso has grown by over 50 percent every year except 2009, when the firm grew 35 percent due to the effects of the global recession. The firm expects to accelerate this growth in coming years, expanding rapidly in Europe and Asia while continuing to build a strong team and client portfolio in North America.
"We've learned a lot about what it takes to succeed in a sluggish economy, but the future is bright and we have put an aggressive plan in place to continue growing at this rate even as the base gets larger and larger," said Poston, Kalypso co-founder and managing partner. "We believe our growth is a testament to the passion, expertise and value we are able to offer our clients. We will continue to work hard to ensure our clients get the help they need in order to deliver on the promise of innovation."
Part of this plan for growth involves expanding practice areas – adding capabilities and people in pricing and value management, digital innovation, organization change management and PLM. The firm is also building industry-focused practices in pharmaceuticals, health care and industrial manufacturing.
With Kalypso's success has come a recent series of promotions – 15 in 2011 alone. Of those 15, five were promotions to the leadership team, and two were promoted to partner and director – Horst Groesser and Joe Dury.
Kalypso is continually looking for individuals who are passionate about innovation to join their team of consultants. The firm recently launched a new careers website where candidates can learn more about Kalypso's history, mission vision and values, and find current openings. The firm also has an active campus recruiting program, working with leading schools including Indiana, Rice, the University of Southern California and North Carolina State.
Kalypso’s culture is defined by a set of six core values that the firm lives by such as “Leaders behind the Leader” and “Characters with Character.” The open, creative culture and steep professional development curve make Kalypso an attractive place for the hardest working people in the business to pursue their passion. In April 2011, Kalypso was named one of Consulting magazine’s Seven Small Jewels, recognized for the firm’s “explosive growth.” The firm expects this type of growth to continue.
