Lucio Pieroni Joins Kalypso to Expand Consumer Goods Practice

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – Kalypso, the world's premier innovation consulting firm, announced today that Lucio Pieroni has joined the firm as a senior manager to help grow its Consumer Goods practice.

The people of Kalypso are leading business professionals who combine a depth of experience in select industries with unparalleled expertise in product and process innovation. Lucio brings 25 years of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience to Kalypso's clients. He has extensive expertise in linking innovation strategy with boardroom strategy, consumer-centric and technology-enabled innovation, and innovation platforms.

Prior to joining Kalypso, Lucio spent 25 years in R&D at Mars and Procter & Gamble (P&G). At Mars, he served as vice president of R&D and member of the executive board for the Pet Food category. He was also responsible for driving Pet Food's innovation strategy as the corporate leader for innovation best practices, where he led the transformation of innovation capabilities, first in R&D and then cross functionally. During his tenure, several award-winning products were introduced.

Lucio’s deep expertise in FMGC encompasses both food and non-food categories, with specializations including product commercialization, roadmapping, portfolio management, product development, innovation metrics and organizational transformation.

Lucio holds a Master Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of La Sapienza in Rome. He has lived and worked on three continents and five countries, currently residing in Hamburg, Germany, with his wife Eva and son Massimiliano.
