Beachwood, OH – Kalypso, the world’s premier innovation consulting firm, and Stelos Alliance, a non-profit scholarship organization for extraordinary young leaders, awarded the Kalypso Wolfpack Innovators Scholarship to North Carolina State University undergraduate Tyler Confrey-Malony.
Tyler is a junior, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering. He will receive a $2,000 award for his authentic and innovative approach to problem solving, work ethic and demonstrated understanding of Kalypso, its service offerings and its culture.
"The Kalypso Wolfpack Innovation Scholarship is a fantastic opportunity for college students to expand their horizons,” said Confrey-Malony. “Personally, this scholarship will provide the funding I needed to continue my research on biopolymers and their application to medicine and microelectronics. I am honored to receive this recognition, and I am excited about the upcoming year!"
The Wolfpack Innovators Scholarship was established in order to provide financial aid opportunities to Wolfpack Alumni and funnel quality engineers into the consulting world. In the fall of 2012, Kalypso, in partnership with Stelos Alliance, began awarding up to four scholarships for excellence in innovation and academics to NC State undergraduate engineering students.
“We feel honored to be able to recognize talented young people like Tyler,” said Bill Poston, managing partner of Kalypso and founder of Stelos Alliance. “We value the relationship we have with NC State students and faculty and we look forward to recognizing more promising members of the NC State Wolfpack in the future.”
The Kalypso Wolfpack Innovators Scholarship is open to fulltime sophomores and juniors in an undergraduate engineering major. Applications for the fall 2014 scholarship will open spring 2014. More information can be found at www.stelos.org/scholarships.
