Joe brings to Kalypso's clients a deep global industry expertise in engineering and operations management. In addition, Joe also has a strong educational background with PhD studies in semiconductor theory, processing and design at the University of Cincinnati where he holds both a MSEE and BSEE.
Prior to joining Kalypso, Joe held key senior management positions in industry, most recently with Teradyne, Inc., a leading ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) OEM and capital equipment supplier to semiconductor and high tech manufacturers. At Teradyne, Joe led a process reengineering initiative to improve the ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) design methodology. He served as the chief architect and team leader for the project that included the creation of a dashboard for the ASIC development process. Joe later drove the ECO-PDM initiative across engineering, operations, and IT. The project implemented a new business process and enterprise product lifecycle management (PLM) system for the engineering and supply chain groups in design, manufacturing, and new product introduction (NPI).
Joe has also held senior management positions in engineering, operations, manufacturing, and supply chain at Analog Devices, Inc., Raytheon Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Texas Instruments.
Since joining the firm in 2006, Joe has assisted clients in nearly all areas of innovation. His areas of expertise include process reengineering, resource management, leadership alignment, organizational change management and systems implementation - both in new product development/introduction and global manufacturing - and working with internal and sub-contracted operations for high tech, computer, semiconductor companies and their capital equipment suppliers. Joe has worked with clients to deliver successful PLM and portfolio & pipeline management (P&PM) projects, from strategic assessments to implementations, and IP commercialization projects to improve the new product development (NPD) and NPI processes of manufacturing engineering and development teams.
Joe and his wife lived in the Boston area for 20 years - where their two adult sons, daughter-in-law and granddaughter currently live - and now split their time between their home in western North Carolina and their Maine condo (where they enjoy the Maine summers and winters!). In addition to being an avid baseball fan ("Do it again Red Sox! Or anybody but the Yankees!"), Joe also enjoys college basketball ("Go Cincy Bearcats!"), hiking and meteorology. When spending time with his wife, they can often be found playing with their Golden Retriever companions, Keeva and Dasher.
