Veda has have a Master’s in Biochemistry and a B.S in Medical Technology. Her industry experience is heavily focused in the life sciences industry, particularly medical devices. Early in her career, she worked as a staff medical technologist in hematology, chemistry and blood bank in a clinical lab. After working in the clinical setting for a few years, she moved to Abbott where she worked in various departments such as R&D assay development, reagent manufacturing, test validation, SPC and CAPA. After five years at Abbott, she moved to Baxter Healthcare and worked in complaints, quality engineering (IV Sets) and CAPA. As a CAPA SME, she worked with engineering and other cross-functional teams to own and approve FDA Warning Letter CAPAs. She led a one-year project to set up and manage CAPA Review Board in Global Infusion Systems Department.
Her other assignments include working in Plexus as a quality engineer for Printed Circuit Board manufacturing used in Class III medical devices (e.g., Defibrillators) as well as working as a Quality Manager on a global team focused on bringing to market a cancer biomarker assay at Sysmex. More recently, she worked on setting up CAPA system and reporting tool at CVS Health for environmental monitoring excursions and then as a quality manager at Sol-Millennium, a syringe and needle manufacturer. Her experience thereby has enabled me to be well versed in all aspects of the product lifecycle starting with product design, validation, manufacturing and on market support.
Veda loves going on nature trails (totally a summer and ‘Fall fan) with family and her pet dog. She likes to cook new recipes, reading and dabble in a little bit of volunteer teaching.
