Prior to Kalypso, Ellery was the Technical and creative Solutions Lead at Foundry where he helped to build creative pipelines to integrate 3D design into client design processes. He specialized in designer focused workflows that allowed artists to leverage 3D visualization with a more gradual learning curve. He is most well known for his work on 3D Speed footwear modeling, contextualized product visualization methods, and Autobox.
Before working at Foundry, Ellery taught animation and visual effects at Arizona State University as an assistant professor and helped to build the art-side curriculum for the game design program at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. During his tenure at these Universities, Ellery also designed and recorded many training courses related to 3D, visual effects, product visualization for Lynda.com (now LinkedIn Learning) as well as authoring the book "3D for Graphic Designers" and co-authoring "Learning Autodesk Maya 2013" by Wiley/Sybex publishers.
Ellery has an MFA in Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University as well as a BA in Music (classical composition and jazz performance) from the University of California - Riverside.
