2020 has been a year unlike any other. It has also undoubtedly altered the holiday shopping experience for all of us, with many opting to shop online instead of heading to local shopping malls.
If you’ve got more online shopping to do, we can help.
Throughout the year, Kalypso has highlighted many amazing companies that have raised the bar with their innovative products. The exciting thing about this year's products is their focus on consumer experience and their commitment to sustainability - two trends we expect to accelerate in 2021.
This year Dunkin' Brands said ‘goodbye’ to foam cups and completed a global transition to paper cups. These new cups, made from Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Standard paper, are currently used to serve all Dunkin’ hot beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, tea and hot chocolate.
Now you can feel good and planet-conscious when picking up a to-go cup of joe for a family member in your quarantine pod or sending a gift card to that coffee lover on your list.
Some people are using quarantine to perfect their favorite makeup looks for when the world opens again, or to look their best on Zoom calls. Mink’s 3D makeup printer is a nifty gift for them.
The Mink printer allows you to turn any image into wearable and usable makeup. All you need to do is connect your printer to WiFi, take a screenshot of the image you like and upload the image to the Mink app. Insert a Mink makeup sheet into the tray and print your art. No more searching for the perfect shade; you can create your own.
H&M’s brand Weekday has partnered with unspun, a pioneering apparel brand, to provide their customers with made-to-measure premium denim products.
unspun uses body scanning technology to map a customer’s body shape. This body scan is used to create an avatar, which is used to build a digital custom garment as per the customer’s preferences. Get the perfect fit that will cut down on the need to send items back for a different size.
Encourage the video game lover in your live to step outside and kick a ball around (don’t forget your mask though!). Adidas, Google and EA Sports have teamed up to create a new way to game in real life.
Fans of playing FIFA and real-life soccer now have the opportunity to merge worlds. Adidas will place smart insoles, powered by Google’s Jacquard, within its footwear. The technology can measure speed and distance as well as kicks and shot power during a real game. These physical movements are then translated into rewards within the FIFA mobile app.
While there may not be any in-home entertaining this holiday season, you can still surprise your favorite hostess with Seedlip. It’s a diageo brand of non-alcoholic spirits with surprising sustainable packaging.
The packaging can be composted in your home garden and returns to soil with bio-additive nutrients in about 40 days. With this close-to-nature packaging, you could even use the shipping box as a planter for the seeds in the tag. There you go - fresh thyme to garnish your drink! It’s the perfect gift to cheers to 2021 with!
Over the course of 2020, we’ve highlighted so many great and innovative companies. You can learn more about them all and take a look at our newly designed Viewpoints site here: https://kalypso.com/viewpoints
