Andy Timm - A Character With Character

Andy Timm - A Character With Character

...because interesting people are more fun to work with

by Andrew Timm and Reagan Pugh on August 31st, 2012

I married my wonderful wife Janelle this June.  We live in Round Rock, Texas with her two kids Blake and Brina and a little dog Squirt.  I grew up in Minnesota, and love the snow, the Twins and the Vikings (all of which are soft, fluffy and disappear when heat is applied). I tend to draw out my "o’s" after a few beers - think Fargo - and am pretty sure I’ll never adapt to the Texas heat. My travels with PTC have taken me all over the world and have rewarded me with stories for every occasion, only some of them fit for polite company.  I still get around (well over 100 segments this year), but now have many more reasons to be home where I enjoy experimenting with the grill/smoker on weekends.

Who are your heroes in real life?

My wife!  She somehow manages to keep the kids fed, on time to school and sports practices, the house in order, bills paid, laundry done, dinners made, etc.  She makes my job look easy – and puts up with me.

What natural gift would you most like to possess? Why?

Un-natural gifts are more fun to wish for… I’d like the ability to pause time like that old Twilight Zone episode.  I’d click the pocket watch and everything around me would stop while I keep on.  In that fantasy I get eight hours of sleep every night, a decent breakfast, a workout, all my work finished and have plenty of time to relax with my family.

Where would you like to live? Why?

Duluth, Minnesota.  I went to college in Duluth and fell in love with Lake Superior and the town itself. I go back every November for deer hunting season. Duluth is also where I was married.

If you were a sports franchise, which franchise would you be and why?

Are the Bad News Bears a sports franchise?  I love rooting for the underdog.  Wait, I guess that explains my loyalty to any professional team from Minnesota.

When was a time you were supremely optimistic about the future?

Right now.  Since college I’ve had high points with career, family, relationships and a “plan” for the future – just never more than one or two at the same time.  Yep, I’m think I’m sittin’ pretty on all counts.
